The White Platinum Hotel (LEED HOTEL)
DESIGN DESCRIPTION
The White Platinum Hotel resides in shores of
San Francisco, CA. It is LEED certified with its furnishings and structural
build. When you first enter through the double glass doors of the hotel, you
will feel a strong vibe of a fresh and clean look. The floor is made from
recycled glass from recycled glass bottles. There is a seating area, reception
area and the elevator area. All of the seats consists of eco-friendly material,
the sofa, end chair, and the ottomans are made from 100% post-consumer
materials. The furniture contains reclaimed wood frame, soy bean based foam,
and natural fabrics like cotton, hemp, and linen. The walls and ceiling are
painted with Benjamin Moore Natura Paint having no traces of VOC and is odorless
when applied. There is an extreme amount of nature lighting in the daytime
through the curtain walls that stands about 30 feet tall. At nighttime, the
chandeliers provide the lighting for the lobby. The chandeliers are LED lights powered
by electricity/solar power. It has solar power capability because the hotel is
equipped with solar panels on the exterior of the building. Elevators are
programmed to be powered by the minimal energy possible as well as providing
the best performance possible. The end tables next to the elevator area not
only provide a beautiful aesthetic look to the space, but are also made out of
next reclaimed teak wood. The reception area is made out of reclaimed wood
frame and covered up with recycled glass. There is also LED lighting on the
reception desk that beautifully lights up the glass. Lastly, there are two TV’s
to provide advertisement, information, and entertainment to accommodate guests
while they are in the lobby.
